The Lotus Project’s Youth Advocacy internships provide high school interns with the opportunity and platform to amplify AAAI youth voices, stories, and experiences. Our youth advocacy interns, Jessica Louie and Wesley Chen, have advocated for greater awareness about the impacts of anti-Asian hate and mental health stigma on AAAI youth through social media posts, community events, newsletters, blogs, collaborations with other youth organizations and volunteers, and even speaking up about their experiences with anti-Asian hate and school mental health systems at the White House Initiative AANHPI Mental Health Summit on July 20, 2023.
